Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 179-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 179-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 556, dated November 16, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Central Pacific
Bank.
Central Pacific Bank has graciously donated fencing materials to be used by the Hawaii County
Department of Parks and Recreation to construct a fence between the County soccer field and the
Central Pacific Bank building. The value of this donation is estimated at $2,008.
Pursuant to Article XB1, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 179-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Mr. Clifton Tsuji, Central Pacific Bank at 525 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720,
acknowledging this generous donation.
