Dear Council members,
I urge to pass Res. 368 -10 and lend this support to prevent the consolidation of the Kohala School
Complex. Both of my sons attended all the Kohala Schools as recently as last year. All the reasons the
TF committee set forth are sound. What was not stated in the report, but every school parent in this
community knows, is that Kohala Middle School with principal Janette Snelling at the helm is the best
thing that has happened to these schools in years. It's outstanding progress would surely be thwarted by
this transition. It is disheartening and pathetic that when someone such as Janette Snelling is able to
make strides for the sake of the students, that the DOE then arranges for a setback. Please help prevent
the consolidation.
