I fully support resolution 363 -10 to stop the taking of reef fish for export. This is the
perfect opportunity to do something about fish extraction off all our islands. Bill Walsh set
up FRA's to try to keep the aquarium fish business sustainable, but DAR fish counts and
reports show it is NOT working. DNLR has done NOTHING to restrict the # of permits
sold, no limit on how many fish or which type of fish can be taken. Our endemic fish are
being shipped out. They belong on our reefs. DAR has also been doing research for the past
10 years on many of the reefs. Some reefs have gone from 75% coral cover to 4% coral
cover in 10 years! DAR tells us herbivore fish and others can eat the algae and bring back
healthy reefs, but where are the fish? Statistically we know well over a million are being
shipped out and our reefs are suffering. We must stop aquarium fish collecting
