Subject: Reef Fish Collection Resolution (363 -10)
I am writing in support of Resolution 363 -10 which recommends the DLNR disallow the collection of reef fish
for export in the waters surrounding Hawai'i Island. I have enjoyed visiting Hawaii as a scuba diver and I
have long been amazed the Hawaii allowed the unrestricted collection of the reef fish. In the few
short years that I have been visiting Hawai'i the number of fish in the reefs have declined drastically. It
seems a shame to allow a few collectors to strip the reefs of a resource that should be for the benefit
of all Hawaiians.
