Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Resolution 369 -10, reports as follows:
Resolution 369 -10, transmitted by the Deputy Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase, via
Communication No. 879 dated July 14, 2010, requests accepting the dedication of
Roadway Lot A and the Lako Street Extension of the Kona Vistas Subdivison, Unit 2 -B to the
County of Hawai`i.
Council Member Brenda Ford asked Department of Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee
about Lako Street being extend to connect with Ali`i Drive. Mr. Lee stated another property
needs to be acquired before that could happen, and that the County is actively pursuing said
acquisition.
Article XIII, §13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts
which include the dedication of land on behalf of the County of Hawai`i.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution 369 -10, and recommends its adoption.
