Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 276, reports as follows:
Bill No. 276, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 890,
dated July 20, 2010, amends Ordinance No. 10 -60, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending
June 30, 2011, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Kapi`olani Street Extension
(Mohouli Street to Lanikaula Street) 110.399.5395.79 $600,000
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund —
Fund Balance and /or Other Sources $600,000
This project is to extend Kapi`olani Street from Mohouli Street to Lanikaula Street to enhance
traffic, pedestrian, ADA, and bicycle circulation between the University of Hawai`i at Hilo and
vicinity and downtown Hilo. The $600,000 appropriation is needed for the planning, survey and
design portion.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Pursuant to Section 10 -6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget
for that year with a two - thirds vote.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 276, and
recommends it pass first reading.
