Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Bill 277, reports as follows:
Bill 277, transmitted by the Director of Public Works Warren 11.W. Lee, via Communication No.
891 dated July 21, 2010, requests amending the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as
Amended), Chapter 24, article 10, Division 4 (Pedestrians), Section 24 -278, Schedule 26 (Road
closed to pedestrian traffic), paragraph (f) Kona.
Council Member Brenda Ford introduced Department of Public Works Traffic Division Chief
Ron Thiel as being present to answer any questions about the agreements regarding public access
to these private roads. There was no discussion.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill 277, and recommends passage at first reading.
