Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 196-2K, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 196-2K, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 603, dated December 21, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the YWCA of
Hawaii Island.
YWCA of Hawaii Island has graciously donated two (2) Omnichrome Light Sources and one
(1) Colposcope, for use at the Hilo and Kona Hospital Emergency rooms by the Sex Assault
Nurse Examiners and the Hawaii County Police Department. The value of this donation is
estimated at $12,381.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts of donations or personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 196-2K
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Ms. Susan J. Labrenz, Executive Director, YWCA of Hawaii Island at 145 Keawe Street,
Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
