Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
One (1) bargain rack; six (6) black chairs; two (2) magazine racks; two (2) newspaper
racks; two (2) book shelves; three (3) kids bookcases; one (1) cafe table; and four (4)
church pews; (total estimated value of $1,475) for the Department of Parks &
Recreation's Pahoa Senior Center, by Ms. Toby S. Hazel, RR4 Box 2298, Pahoa, Hawai`i
96778.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.

A. REQUEST:
To accept and acknowledge a donation of 1 bargain rack, 6 black chairs, 2 magazine racks, 2 newspaper
racks, 2 bookshelves, 3 kids bookcases, 1 cafe table, and 4 church pews to be used at the Pahoa Senior
Center.

Council action is being requested to accept and acknowledge the following donations with a total estimated

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
Committee for placement on its future agenda.
