The grant's purpose is to improve <br /> Hawaii Police Department's ability to respond to sexual assault and other violent crimes <br /> against adult and adolescent women. This will be accomplished with timely examination <br /> by Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner nurses and <br /> the analysis of recovered evidence specimen. This grant will cover the costs to conduct <br /> these exams and for the analysis of the specimen by a certified laboratory. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State <br /> of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General for this grant. <br /> Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating <br /> this $125,000 Sexual Assault Exam & Offender /Victim DNA Analysis Grant. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawaii Police Department. <br /> Nancy E.
