RESOLUTION NO. 387 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A WINDWARD BOATS
INC. TRAILER FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has donated a new Windward Boats Inc.
Trailer to the Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the trailer, with a total estimated value of $11,975, will replace the existing rusted
trailer used for Rescue Boat #7; and
WHEREAS, this new trailer will provide a safe and reliable means of transporting the rescue boat;
and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
Ms. Laura Mallery- Sayre, Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii
96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
