RESOLUTION NO. 388 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF
$7,500 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
WHEREAS, the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. is providing a $7,500 donation to the
County of Hawaii in support of the Hawaii County 2010 Healthcare Conference; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used toward the hosting expenses and the cost of supplies for
the conference, held on August 13, 2010 at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council,
on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development, a major participant at the
conference, recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts the $7,500.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent
to the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Attn: Nina Miyata, Community Benefit, 2828 Paa Street,
Suite 3025, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819 acknowledging this generous donation.
