Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 378 -10, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 378 -10, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication
No. 907, dated July 30, 2010, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more
than one fiscal year for a multi -year leases for a copy machine for the Department of Public
Works.
The current copier at the Department of Public Works Administration Office is eight (8) years
old and replacement parts are difficult to locate as the copier has become obsolete. Upon
evaluation, it has been determined that a lease is more cost efficient (less maintenance and
overage fees) with an anticipated cost of $7,600.
Pursuant to Section 10 -11, Hawai`i County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 378 -10,
and recommends its adoption.
