Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 623, reports as follows:
Communication No. 623, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated January 12, 2000,
nominates Mr. Walter Moe to serve on the Hawaii County Police Commission.
Mr. Moe has been self-employed as a marketing consultant since 1993. Previously he served as
the CEO at Hypress Technologies, [nc., in California. He is also active with the Kotary
International and Toastmasters International. A member of the Republican Party, he will serve a
term to end December 31, 2003.
Pursuant to Section 7-2.2, Hawaii County Charter, the Police Commission shall consist of seven
members...appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council in the manner prescribed in
Section 13-4.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Walter Moe to serve on the
Hawaii County Police Commission.
