COMMITTEE ON FINANCE

Place: Yano Memorial Hall, Captain Cook, Kona

Date: Friday, August 28, 1998
Place: Honokaa High School Cafeteria
Time: 5 p.m.
Notice is hereby given that the Hawaii County Council's Committee on Finance will
be holding public hearings to hear testimony on Res. 267 -98 (Comm. No. 604.08),
presenting a Plan of Disposition for the former Hamakua Sugar Company, Inc.
lands now under County ownership and on Res. 309 -98 (Comm. No. 604.10),
authorizing the leasing of County lands (formerly owned by Hamakua Sugar
Company, Inc.) for Diversified Agriculture, Eco-Tourism, and Pastoral Uses by
Negotiations. The purpose, of these hearings is to allow interested parties to voice
their concerns and suggestions on the subject matters.
Copies of Res. 267 -98 and Res. 309 -98 may be reviewed at the Hawaii County
Services Office, 75 -5706 Kuakini Highway, Suite 103, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii 96740,
and at the Office of the County Clerk, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
All persons desiring to express their views on the above matters may do so orally at
the hearings or by submitting written statements to the Committee on Finance,
County Clerk's Office, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 by August 26, 1998.
The meeting places are accessible for persons with physical disabilities. Persons
who need special accommodations to attend the hearings should call 961 -8245 by
August 24, 1998. Persons using TDDs may call 961-8521.
