Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 198, reports as follows:
Bill No. 198, transmitted by Council Member J. Curtis Tyler III, via Communication No. 638,
dated January 25, 2000, amends Ordinance No. 99-71, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 2000, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS
Waiaha Bay Beach Park Land Acquisition 110-559-5597.80-115 $1,000,000
Funds for this project shall be provided from General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Pund,
Fund Balance, and/or other Sources.
These funds are intended to acquire the parcel designated as TMK 7-5-018:020, which fronts
Waiaha Bay, North Kona District, Hawaii, for future use as a County park.
Some members of Your Committee expressed concerns about traffic and parking problems.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 198, and
recommends it pass first reading.
