RESOLUTION NO. 394 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A
MULTI -YEAR LEASE FOR TWENTY (20) LAPTOP COMPUTERS FOR
THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10 -11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal
year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department would like to obtain a three (3) year lease
agreement for twenty (20) laptop computers for its Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
personnel; and
WHEREAS, the laptop computers will be used to provide the ability to document
patient care, send critical information to hospitals, and for collecting billing information
from the incident site or other locations as needed; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the laptop computers' lease is reimbursable by the State of
Hawai`i as part of the EMS contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3) year lease
agreement for twenty (20) laptop computers for the Hawaii Fire Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Finance and Fire Departments.
