Re: Acceptance of Donations �+
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
An used HP C4700A printer plotter (estimated total value of $900) to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney, to be used by its Kona Office to prepare exhibits and diagram
for court presentation, by Mr. Terry Cisco, 75 -358 Hoene Street, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii
96740.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.

A. REQUEST:
Communication to Council regarding donation of an HP plotter printer for the Kona Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Mr. Terry Cisco of Kailua, Kona, donated a used HP C4700A plotter printer valued at $900 to the Kona
office. The plotter printer will be used to prepare exhibits and diagrams for court presentation. The current
unit in Kona is very old and not working properly.

RE: Communication No. 956 : A Communication Authorizing the Acceptance of a
Donation to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
Committee for placement on its future agenda.
