Meetings began on December 9, 2009, and were continued on a bi weekly basis. Of the four Councilmembers on the Committee, only I attended after the initial meeting, along with invited members of the community. The interest in creating a project was somewhat divided and generally minimal, with an average of only six or seven attendees per meeting. To summarize, the repeated concern was that there was no agreed upon objective which actually was supposed to be established by the attendees and never was. Therefore, with an increasingly disinterested private sector, no attendance or involvement by other Councilmembers, and my leaving the Council in December, I have chosen to disband the Ad -Hoc Committee as of this date. My personal analysis of the effort is that it is potentially worthy of being continued, probably under another format such as a not for profit organization. If those involved from the private sector community organizations agree, this concept can be discussed at our final public meeting on October 25, 2010. Please place this on the Planning Committee Agenda for the October 19, 2010 meeting. KG /dh Cow* No." S () • Z Ref. To F Ref.
