C V S /Mr. Ogasawara' s proposal to mitigate traffic by re- opening the Kahakai/Hwy 130
intersection does nothing to relieve the influx of traffic at the other end of the street. Initially
expected to be experienced during the "Grand Opening' phase of the Woodlands Center project
these problems will continue after Longs Drugs, Burger King and Kentucky Fried Chicken are
already open as, currently, this is the only access into or out of the Woodlands Center Project.
Even with the re- opening of the Kahakai remnant, the incremental increase of traffic on Kahakai
mauka of Hwy 130 will be substantial enough, by any measure, to make this un- signalized "T"
intersection, which has never experienced any significant traffic safety issues prior to opening
Longs Drugs, to a level of safety every bit as bad as, or possibly even worse than, the other
intersections in the inunediate vicinity that are already recognized by the State and County of
