Hawaii County Council 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Re: Hawaii State Emergency Outdoor Siren Warning System In order to improve the coordination of outdoor warning siren installations on County of Hawai'i properties, the State of Hawai'i Department of Defense (DOD) and the State of Hawai'i Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) have requested a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and licenses with the County of Hawaii for access, installation, and maintenance of sirens on County property. The MOA will also clarify the roles and responsibilities of DOD, DAGS, and the County of Hawaii. Enclosed is a resolution authorzing the County of Hawaii Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii for the granting of licenses for access, installation and maintenance of sirens of the Hawaii State Emergency Outdoor Siren Warning System. In the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance Committee for placement on its future agenda.
