Needless to say, I felt like a drunk driver on the road trying to follow all the new lines and arrows out here. (I'm sober, though.) More pictures to come... I'll be posting them on my blog this morning. All I can say is, whoever did the painting of these lines and arrows must have suffered from a bad acid trip. Notice the arrow in the foreground of this picture. Other pictures will reveal how part of the shoulder has been converted into a lane, leaving no place for pedestrians to walk. There is also a frenetic series of white lines that I say are frenetic because they aren't even straight. Then, at the intersection of Pahoa Village Road and Highwsy 130 that are, well, I just really don't even know what is going on there, quite frankly. I'm now officially too afraid to even leave Pahoa this way. Please save us from this Planning and Public Works nightmare. This is ridiculous. How can you expect occupancy of Woodland Center before we get any improvements to Pahoa Village Road and Highway 130? Are all these crazy lines and arrows all we are to expect before the STIP project of 2011 -2012, Jiro? If so, DOT and Public Works, WTF? We are taxpayers out here. My family really actually does pay a hefty tax bill, as small business owners and ad homeowners. Is this the kind of representationyou can be proud of? Wait until you see all my pictures! You are going to be embarrased for whoever painted these lines and arrows. It's an elementary job to say the least. I'd also like to request that we have videoconferencing from Puna for your upcoming meetings on Woodland Center. There is no way I can afford to take time away from my small business to get over to testify in person in Kona on Tuesday at 3 pm. Also, if I go to Hilo to testify via videoconferencing I won't be able to pick up my child by 2:30 and I will be fined by her preschool. There are many of us who are concerned about Woodland Center occupancy prior to intersection improvements. We just can't afford to take time away from our work and home obligations to come participate in government. Please do the right thing, at least give us sn opportunity to testify from our home district. Tiffany Edwards Hunt Com% No. 41° 3.2 0 Ref. To Piet- 1 Ref.
