Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. ti6Q reports as follows:
Communication No. 660, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated Februazy 9, 2000,
nominates Mr. Gordon N. Ogasawara of Council District 9 to serve on the Hawaii County Tax
Board of Review.
Mr. Ogasawara, a 16-year resident of Hawaii, has been the Executive Director of Kokua
Housing, Inc. since 1998. Previously, he was Vice-President of Chalon International of Hawaii,
Inc. He is also involved with the North Hawaii Community Hospital Board. Of no political
party affiliation, he will serve a term to end December 31, 2004.
Pursuant to Section 19-96, Hawaii County Code, "there is created a board of review for the
county which shall consist of five members... appointed by the mayor and. confirmed by the
council as provided by charter."
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Gordon N. Ogasawara to the
Hawaii County Tax Board of Review.
