Re: Forest City /Kamakana Villages at Keahuolu
At the Housing Committee meeting that was held on October 5, 2010, the applicants stated that they
were in the process of amending the Resolution regarding the Forest City /Kamakana Villages at
Keahuolu project. Based upon the representations made by at that meeting by the applicants, this
Council should be receiving proposed amendments to the resolution regarding the Forest City project
well in advance of the next agendized Council meeting.
Hawai`i Revised Statutes Section 201H- 38(a)(3)(A) states:
"The legislative body shall approve, approve with modifications, or disapprove the project by
resolution within forty -five days after the corporation has submitted the preliminary plans and
specifications for the project to the legislative body. If on the forty -sixth day a project is not
disapproved, it shall be deemed approved by the legislative body”
I believe that it is in the best interest of the public that any amendments received by this body in a timely
manner be processed and placed on the October 20, 2010 Council agenda, so as to allow the public the
maximum amount of time to review said amendments.
Therefore, I request that any amendments received prior to posting be placed on the October 20, 2010
agenda. Thank you in advance for your attention in this matter.
