AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24 -255, schedule 3 (25 mile per
hour limit), subsection (f) Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended).
is amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
Ali`i Drive from a point 0.20 mile south of Kaleiopapa Street to its
southern terminus.
Mamalahoa Bypass Highway, from the Ali`i Drive intersection to a
point four hundred sixty feet in the southerly direction.
Mamalahoa Bypass Highway, from a point 2.67 miles south of the
Ali`i Drive intersection to the Haleki`i Street intersection.
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division I, section 24 -257, schedule 5 (35 mile per
hour limit), subsection (f) Kona, Item (1) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as
amended), is amended to read as follows:
(1) Ali`i Drive, from the Kamehameha III Road intersection [souawfly-
to its ter - ,intis to a point 0.20 mile south of Kaleiop a StLoll. ; _
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24 -260, schedule 8 (45 mile per
hour limit), subsection (f) Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as arliended),
is amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
Mamalahoa Bypass H ighway, from a point four hundre six f
south of the Ali`i D riv e intersection to a point 2.58 miles the
s outherly direction.
SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is
underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and stricken material
and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 5. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application. and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
