The Committee on Human Services and Economic Development, to which was referred
Resolution No. 397-10, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 397-10, transmitted by Council Member Kelly Greenwell, via Communication
No. 962, dated October 7, 2010, a resolution encouraging all county, state and federal agencies,
offices, and departments to solicit funding from any and all sources, for assistance in combating
and controlling the coffee bean borer.
Council Member Brenda Ford stated to your committee that she was unhappy with the State
Department of Agriculture because a civilian anthropologist brought the coffee been borer issue
to their attention six years ago, but he was ignored.
Your Committee on Human Services and Economic Development is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 397-10, and recommends its adoption.
