SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the Temporary Closure of the Stub -Out at the
End of Alohalani Drive Where It Intersects With Kaunaloa Street In the
District of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii
Attached for your consideration is a proposed resolution authorizing the temporary closure
of the stub -out at the end of Alohalani Drive where it intersects with Kaunaloa Street.
Pursuant to Hawaii County Code section 24- 153.3, subsection (b), the council may, by resolution,
authorize the temporary closure of a roadway stub -out, dead -end and /or other road terminus,
providing the existence of certain conditions.
I would like this matter to be addressed as soon as possible. As there are no Committee
meetings scheduled for the first half of November, I would like to request that this matter be
waived from your Committee and placed on the agenda of the next scheduled Council
meeting.

RE: Resolution No. 407 -10 : Resolution Authorizing the Temporary Closure of the
Stub -Out at the End of Alohalani Drive Where It Intersects With Kaunaloa Street In the District
of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee to the full Council
for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee for
placement on its future agenda.
