Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
Re: Humu'ula Radio Tower
Transmitted herewith for Council's approval is a resolution authorizing the
County of Hawaii to enter into a twenty -one year license agreement with the
Department of Hawaiian Homes Lands for the continued use of the Radio cell
tower located at Humu'ula, Hawaii. Continued uninterrupted use of this tower is
essential for our emergency response personnel in order to maintain our current
level of service for our Island.
We are requesting that this resolution be waived from committee and be
heard by the full Council as soon as possible to ensure continuous use of the
tower.

RE: Resolution No. 410 - 10 : A Resolution Authorizing the County of Hawai`i to Enter Into a
Multi -Year License Agreement of Real Property for the Continued Use of a Public Safety
Radio Tower Situated on a Portion of State of Hawai`i Department of Hawaiian Home
Lands in Humu'ula, North Hilo, Hawaii, TMKs: (3) 3 -8- 001 -007 and 015
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
Committee for placement on its future agenda.
