Hawaii Carpenters Union, Local 745 supports Bill 298 regarding An
Ordinance Amending Chapter 27, Article 2, & Article 4, of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), Relating To
Floodplain Management.
We feel the current ordinance restricts developers to improve and
develop their properties. It adds unreasonable costs and is overly
restricted.
The implementation of this ordinance will allow developers to spend
the money where it is needed, rather than the unnecessary work in
the existing ordinance.
