I believe it is vital that we conserve the fish on our reefs. This is our island home and the ocean surrounding it has a wealth of resources for all to enjoy. We need to do all that we can to keep it beautiful, healthy and sustainable. I believe one of those ways is to stop taking reef fish from our Island waters. Some of these fish, like the cleaner wrasses, perform very important duties not only to other fishes but to other creatures such as manta rays. Have you ever seen the beauty of these tiny fishes going in and out of the gills and mouth of these huge creatures? It is truly incredible! Our coral reefs are valuable and important to those of us who live here and enjoy them everyday. We can not keep taking and taking from the reefs and expect that they will recover. We as humans have pushed the resources beyond its limits. We need to put a stop to the never ending stripping of the natural resources that are here for all of us to enjoy, not just a few through a piece of glass [if the fish lives that long]. Please support HCC Resolution 363 -10 to ban taking of fish for aquarium trade.
