Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (c), of the Hawai'i County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
One (1) entertainment center for use at the Pahoa Senior Center; (1) 11 foot offset
umbrella; and one (1) barbeque grill, both for Island -wide use; (total estimated value of
$1,000) for the County of Hawai'i Department of Parks & Recreation, by Ms. Toby S.
Hazel, RR4 Box 2298, Pahoa, Hawaii 96778.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.

To accept and acknowledge a donation of a 11 foot off-set umbrella, Barbeque Grill, and an Entertainment
Center to the County of Hawai'i, Department of Parks and Recreation.

RE: Communication No. 1011: A Communication Authorizing Various Merchandise
Donations to the Department of Parks and Recreation
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
