Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 217-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 217-00, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 673, dated February 24, 2000, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Saint Joseph
School.
Saint Joseph School has graciously donated three park benches to be used by the Hawaii County
Department of Parks and Recreation for the Keikiland Playground. The value of this donation is
estimated at $990;966: X400, o~,
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 217-00
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Ms. Barbara Austen, Principal, Saint Joseph School, 1000 Ululani Street, Hilo, Hawaii
96720, acknowledging this generous donation,
