Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 218-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 218-00, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 674, dated February 24, 2000, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Honomu
Village Association.
Honomu Village Association has graciously donated weight room equipment to be used by the
Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation for the Honomu County Gym. The value
of this donation is estimated at $183.24.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 218-00
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Mr. Orlando Smith, President, Honomu Village Association, P.O. Box 394, Honomu,
Hawaii 96728, acknowledging this generous donation.
