Re: Bill 230, Relating to the Code of Ethics
Dear Council Member Onishi:
This is in response to your correspondence dated September 30, 2010, requesting that the
Hawai`i County Board of Ethics ( "Board ") review and resubmit comments to Bill 230 now
pending before the Hawai`i County Council ( "Council ").
The Board discussed this matter at its meeting of October 8, 2010, and again on
November 10, 2010. It was determined that the Board (including our new members) had no
additional comments, corrections, or amendments to Bill 230 and that its correspondence to the
Honorable J Yoshimoto, Chair of the Hawai`i County Council, dated April 7, 2010, adequately
articulates the Board's position on the Bill. Should any amendments Bill 230 be proposed by
Council members, I am willing to bring the matter to the rest of the Board for review and
comment if requested.
On behalf of the Board of Ethics, I would like to thank you again for the opportunity to
