Dear Council Members,
I am in support of the Department of Water Supply's recommendations for the installation of a dedicable water
delivery system for Kona Ocean View Properties as requested by Council Resolution 47 -07.
I am a homeowner in the subdivision and have lived here for 20 years on catchment water. I have always been
in support of a water system that will bring potable water to the homeowners and most importantly fire
hydrants. This area is extremely dry. People usually assume that at our elevation and location we get
reasonable rainfall when in fact the rain that the Kalaoa area is experiencing often stops just before our
subdivision. During droughts this area is a scary place to live knowing that in the event of a fire our homes
would probably burn down.
I was aware when I bought land in the subdivision that there was no water and I am willing to pay my fair share
to get the water system in place. The subdivision is too large to organize our own financing and construction,
we've tried but now we need your help.
