Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
Three (3) Garmin Global Positioning Systems (GPS), model 520HCX; (total estimated
value of $1,380) to be utilized by the Hawai'i Fire Department at the Captain Cook,
Keauhou and Kailua Fire Stations, by Hui Kuahiwi — The Club, and by Mauna Loa
Outfitters.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to each donor through Mr. Colin Onaka, Hui
Kuahiwi, P.O. Box 856, Kailua -Kona, HI 96725.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
