Dear Council Chair Yagong:
On behalf of the members of the Hawai`i Police Department, first let me extend our
congratulations on your recent appointment as the Chair of the Hawai`i County Council.
Pursuant to an invitation from Council Member Angel Pilago, our department would be
interested in providing the members of the Hawaii County Council an overview of the Police
Department during the Council Committee on Human Services and Public Safety meeting
scheduled for January 4, 2011, in Kona.
Unfortunately, Police Chief Harry Kubojiri is scheduled to be on vacation and off -island during
that week; therefore, I will be providing the presentation to the Council. The presentation will be
an overview of the services provided by the Police Department as well as an update of current
projects we are involved with that may impact the various council districts. Should there be any
area that you or other members of the Council would be interested in having included in the
presentation, please feel free to provide me with the information to accommodate the request.
