Subject: Bond issue
Open letter to the council members:
Please, for once in this administration's contentious, unpopular tenure, do something for
the benefit of the people of Hawaii, not for your personal or political agenda. Please, do not
pass the bond issue, especially behind closed doors. This measure has no particular items to
be paid for with the monies; this could prove problematic in the future. And, in a depressed
economy, taking on more debt is rarely a good thing.
What is the hurry? In a few weeks, the new council will be seated; let them start with a new
agenda, not with this ill- advised debt.
