RESOLUTION NO. Is 11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,000
TO THE HAWAII COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Hilo Wal-Mart, has donated monies totaling $1,000 to the Hawaii County
Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division; and
WHEREAS, this donation of $1,000 will be used for the purchase of materials and
supplies used for Fire Prevention Week: and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the
Council of the County of Hawaii accepts the $1,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Ms. Jessica Borges
and Mr. Torrance Crowley, Hilo Wal-Mart Store #2473, 325 E. Maka'ala Street, Hilo, Hawaii
96720, acknowledging this generous donation
