SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
HALEKII STREET — NO PARKING AT ANYTIME
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking),
Section 24 -280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), paragraph (f) Kona be amended
by adding new item and renumbering as required:
(_) HALEKII STREET, BOTH SIDES, FROM A POINT FOUR HUNDRED TEN
FEET WEST OF MULI STREET AND EXTENDING ONE HUNDRED SIXTY
FEET IN THE WESTERLY DIRECTION.
This amendment is necessary to provide two no parking areas as requested by the
Hokulia developers. The intent is to address a parking concern during the use of the
private portion of Halekii Street as a part of the northern portion of the Mamalahoa
Bypass Highway. The County has acquired an easement to use the subject portion of
Halekii Street for twelve hours a day, seven days a week.
A location map is attached for your reference.
