B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This donation was given in appreciation of our Fire Prevention division and to support Fire Prevention
Week. These funds are to help pay for materials and supplies used for Fire Prevention Week.
Prevention is responsible for the review of building plans and development project proposals, in addition to
the enforcement of fire codes and regulations. Personnel conduct site and building inspections; public
education, fire safety, and prevention training; and post fire incident investigations. Annually Fire
Prevention Week in October is an opportunity to promote fire safety and fire prevention - printed materials
and other supplies are needed for this. This donation will help offset the cost of these important supplies.
