Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 14, reports as follows:
Communication No. 14, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, dated November 9,
2010, authorizes the acceptance of donation from Hui Kuahiwi — The Club, and by Mauna Loa
Outfitters of the following donation:
Three (3) Garmin Global Positioning Systems (GPS), model 520 HCX; (total estimated value of
$1,380) to be utilized by the Hawaii Fire Department at the Captain Cook, Keauhou and Kailua
Fire Stations.
It was brought to Your Committee's attention the typographical error to the authority clause cited
as Chapter 2, Article 30, and Section 2 -162 (b) instead of (c). Each unit is estimated less than a
$1,000 and a resolution are not needed to accept this donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Letters of appreciation will be sent to each donor through Mr. Colin Onaka, Hui Kuahiwi, and
P.O. Box 856, Kailua -Kona, HI 96725.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13 -12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article
30, Section 2- 162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or gift which does not fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall be submitted to the Council by
letter for its approval.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of donations described above.
