Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 234, reports as follows:
Bill No. 234, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 233-00 by Finance Director Harry
Takahashi, via Communication No. 714, dated March 20, 2000, amends Ordinance No. 99-70, as
amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2000. The amendment is as follows:

The Department of Research and Development's Energy Coordinator will be expending these
funds to participate in on-going meetings of the Rebuild Hawaii Consortium, an organization
devoted to upgrading the energy efficiency of buildings in the State of Hawaii through effective
collaboration by participating agencies and business concerns. He will also participate in two
Western region Rebuild America Peer Exchange meetings and one Rebuild America
National Forum.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 234 and
recommends it pass first reading.
