RESOLUTION NO. 28 11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,175.75
TO THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS TO
EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AGAINST METHAMPHETAMINE DRUGS
WHEREAS, Club 200 is donating $1,175.75 to the Hawaii County Police Department to be used
to educate the public on the prevention of methamphetamine use; and
WHEREAS, this grant will allow the Hawaii County Police Department to purchase materials such
as brochures and pamphlets for the specified public education project; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization
procedures of the Department of Finance may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with
Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of
the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
Robert Fujimoto, in care of HPM Building Supply, 380 Kanoelehua Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720,
acknowledging this generous donation.
