Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an
additional $2,741,000 into Office of Housing and Community Development's Housing
Voucher Program. This increase in appropriation reflects the updated allocation to be
received from the.U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the period
July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program.
The $2,741,000 is to be used for payment of rental assistance for eligible participants of
the program. The Office of Housing and Community Development expects to expand this
allocation by June 30, 2010.

A. REQUEST:
The Office of Housing and Community Development is requesting the appropriation of $ 2,741,000.00 to the
Housing Voucher Program (Account Number 152.3301.54). This amount represents an increase in
revenues received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to be used for Housing
Assistance Payment subsidies, and is to cover the expenditure account number 152 - 461.5466.30.371,
Voucher rental subsidies.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The increase in appropriation reflects the updated allocation to be received from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development for the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 for the Housing Choice
Voucher (Section 8) Program. The $ 2,741,000.00 is to be used for payment of rental assistance for eligible
participants of the program. The OHCD expects to expand this allocation by June 30, 2010.
