Kenoi Mayor February 3, 2010 J Yoshimoto, Council Chair and Members of the Hawaii County Council Hawai'i County Council 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawai'i 96720 Re: Operating Budget The Hawai'i Fire Department is receiving an additional $47,364 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service's Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Program. These funds will be used to purchase safety equipment for all of the fire stations. In the current fiscal year's budget, $50,000 was appropriated in anticipation of this grant. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant account.
