Dear Honorable Council Members:
This letter is to advise the Council that at the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Hawaiian
Paradise Park Owners Association on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, the Board approved a motion
to "pursue the development of a County Park on a 20 -acre HPP parcel in cooperation with the
County to address homeowners' concerns ".
On January 13, 2011, Scott Reilling, HPPOA General Manager, John Hanor, HPPOA Park
Committee Chair, and John's wife, Pam met with Hunter Bishop, Clayton Honma, and James
Komata to discuss some of the issues and requirements of this park. The Board is in the process of
reviewing these items to ensure mutual understanding. As mentioned in the meeting, a different
parcel from the one located on Maku'u Drive might be a better option.
The Board is expressing the desire of the community to create a park and wants to continue working
with the County to accomplish this. The Board appreciates the Council's commitment to keep this
project alive.
