Dear Ms. Ford:
RE: Resolution 31 -11
Resolution 31 -11 will be considered by the Hawaii County Council's Finance
Committee on February 1, 2011. As expressed in Mayor Billy Kenoi's State of County
address in both Hilo and Kona last week, the administration welcomes any suggestions
and recommendations made by any Council member concerning various proposals to
seek cost savings in order to balance the County's budget.
All proposals should be "on the table" for consideration, and mileage and gas
policies as contemplated in Resolution 31 -11 are already under consideration by the
administration. For this reason, we request the Finance Committee pass Resolution
31 -11 so that our administration will be allowed to consider this option as well as other
proposals currently under review.
