SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
HOLOMUA STREET – NO PARKING AT ANYTIME

We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, article 10, division 5 (Parking),
section 24 -280, schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo be
amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
(_) HOLOMUA STREET, EAST SIDE, FROM WIWOOLE STREET AND
EXTENDING ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN FEET IN THE SOUTHERLY
DIRECTION.
This amendment is necessary to address a sight distance concern for motorists turning
from Wiwoole Street onto Holomua Street when cars are parked too close to the
intersection. The problem is particularly evident when large vehicles park within the
subject area.
A location map is attached for your reference.
