Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $500 from the Hawaii Police
Athletic Foundation, P.O. Box 22623, Honolulu, Hawaii 96823. These funds are being given
to provide support to the Hawaii County Police Department, and will be used to purchase
materials such as pamphlets and brochures to educate the public in the fight against
methamphetamine drugs.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
funds into the Police Administration Division's OCE account.

To accept a donation of $500.00 from Hawaii Police Athletic Federation to purchase materials such as

010- 201 - 5203.02.225.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Hawaii Police Athletic Federation is donating funds to educate the public on the prevention of
methamphetamine use. The materials will include educational items such as brochures and pamphlets.

As we have done since 1994, the HPAF Board of Directors has again voted to continue
our annual grants to the 4 county police departments.
Unfortunately, the economy still has not recovered sufficiently, forcing us to reduce the
amount of our grants and scholarships. Enclosed is our blank check for $500.00 to be
used at your discretion for any project or program for which county funding was not
budgeted.
